Summer is Coming. . .

Happy June! I can't believe it's June already. My life is broken into two parts which both feed passions of mine. Through the fall, winter and spring, I write, edit, and read to my heart's content. But summers are dedicated to camp ministry.

My husband works full time, year round at Camp Tadmor which gets rented out throughout the year, but during the summer, we put on eight weeks of summer camp for middle school, high school, and elementary school aged kids. I work at camp too as the store/coffee shop manager, I LOVE it. Not only do I get to work alongside my husband in ministry (the dream) but I also get to pour into the lives of some amazing young people who are seeking God. The year goes by so fast, and summer is already here again! Summer staff are coming on Sunday!

I say all this to introduce you to my other life, and also to warn you that my writing life will take a backseat for a while. God's timing seems to work well between writing and the summer "break" (during which I often work 12+ hour days). It feels like good timing now because I have an outline written for my next book and I can mull over it all summer, you know, between making almost 200 smoothies a day and bearing the weight of many hearts. That's where you'll find me. In the midst of a mess full of sugar, loud noises, laughter, tears, and epiphanies. Physical and metaphorical mountains climbed, and valleys traversed. It's a glory to be a part of.

In other news, I had the opportunity to write a guest blog post for my friends, Carly and Bethany. They host an amazing blog that I follow daily. Just two friends reading through the Bible together and sharing their thoughts on each chapter. My entry was about the action-packed chapters of Judges 3-4. Please go read it and subscribe to the blog! You won't regret it.
