Living in Dreams

I've been too quiet around here, because I've been so busy reaching out to reviewers and loving life right now. We're playing the long game with No Way but Through, but I'm hoping it's about to explode and become viral. If not, that's fine too. This is all about getting the message out, turning hearts toward compassion, not about me becoming known, or making money.

That said, I'm loving the connections I've been making with book reviewers and readers! The online community can be so fun. I'm excited to see how we can propel each other further up and further in!

In other news, we've raised $300 to give away through the books we've sold! This money will 100% go to improving the lives of displaced people through Preemptive Love Coalition, and through putting together restart kits for refugees here in the Pacific Northwest. It's so amazing to have this dream of giving a large portion of each book to refugees realized.

Listen, what I'm learning about myself is that I'm willing and eager to put in the hard work to fulfill my dreams. I'm willing to lay it all out there. If I fail or I'm rejected, who cares? My life isn't built around this book, or even this career. My life is built on a firmer rock and a trustworthy Guide. I'm just so thankful this is the direction I feel that Guide leading me in, to write. So I'm going to give it my all and put it all on the line for as long as I'm called to do this. What do I have to lose? Be brave and fearless with your life.

Please continue to share this book and its heart with your people. Feel free to share anything I post on social media. Instagram: @emwriting_ Facebook: emwriting

In the past week, I've had two book signing events, and both were a ton of fun! The first one in Albany was good practice. A lot of our friends came out to celebrate the launch with us. I keep saying we and us because my husband, Zack, has been an integral part of this whole process. He's been SO supportive and excited every step of the way. He pumps up my excitement and helps me think through what I will say and how to interact with people around this topic. He's just my favorite. But I digress. . . Margin Coffee in Albany was so good to us. If you're in the area, you need to check them out!

My book signing in Newberg was also a blast! I talked to more people I didn't know about the book, which was really fun. One woman became emotional just thinking about the premise of the book and thanked me for pouring my heart into it. Amazing. I also got to see so many dear friends whom I haven't seen in years! The outpouring of love and support was incredible. It was so good to see old college friends again!

Both were great experiences and I can't wait for more opportunities to do bookish/writerly events like these!

I'm toeing a line between wanting to celebrate this accomplishment of releasing a book, and acknowledging all the hard work that went into it, and knowing this book isn't about me, it's so much bigger than me. It's a strange dichotomy and I don't always know what to do with it. Just taking things day by day and having fun while I'm at it.

Thank you so much for your support!!
